You'd think that with a new sponsorship payload coming in, the first thing that they'd do is spend a bit more on the hotels for next season! :D

That's not the only thing that's been going down the pan at Spurs recently!  :D

We were interested in him last season, when he played against us last year he wasn't very good and missed a sitter (if I remember correctly)  :;):

Oh yeah. Was that him!? Spurs are building on their success then!  :D

Of course, you know they found out what gave them all food poisoning, don't you? They analysed the food. Apparently all the fuss was caused by hard cheese, sour grapes and tough sh!t!  :D

:D

That's a good 'un

I don't really rate him... especially in our system....... If we're gonna be playing Momo, Xabi and Stevie in the middle of the park, more than likely we'll end up with 1 striker and 2 wingers.......

The striker we need has gotta have big physical attributes if he's gonna mix it with premiership centrebacks on his own....
Heading ability, holding up the ball, power, strength etc etc (you get picture) are things that he's gonna need.

Attributes that Defoe is lacking, IMO...... He can't even get in the England set up and we've got 2 strikers limping for chr!st's sake!
Plus, theres the problem with his attitude.... met him once.... and he's a right arrogant little git.....

Not being called up to the England squad is nothing to go by. Bent is the highest scoring English striker this season and he didn't make it. Yet Theo Walcott who has never even played in the Prem can. And by the same token, SWP who we know is explosive is left pout because of lacking matches. Defoe's ommision is therefore immaterial to whether he would work for us or not.

Not all great footballers have great attitudes either, but they perform on the pitch and though I'm not calling Defoe a great, the same theory applies.

I still wouldn't rule out the possibility of Ronaldo coming to Liverpool. It's been very quiet on that front of late, a little too quiet....

Point taken, mate......

Consider this though..... (Besides the fact that I personally found him to be a git.... )

1. He's not as effective as an out and out centre forward..... More effective playing off the shoulder of a big man...... ie... the Keegan role.

2. We've already got Fowler whom I much prefer in this role as he's the more lethal finisher....

3. In a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 system, we need a Shearer type player who can play the lone striker upfront... strong and generally makes a nuisance of himself to defenders... will allow our two wingers and Stevie room to feed of balls around him.... (I reckon that we'll be seeing more of these 2 systems as I'm guessing that Rafa'll want to keep our midfield triumvirate intact..... Momo, Xabi and Gerrard)

What do you reckon?

BTW..... Hopefully we'll be able to pull Ronaldo to Anfield and Rafa can get him to shape up...... can't see it happening though..... :(
