I am definitley not a Manc- can't believe someone with over 7000 posts and ELITE status would be so abusive to a newcomer simply posting a rumour that somebody has backed up with a link. Its the Rumour Mill so thought I would post it. None of my posts have any indication that I am a Manc- me thinks you are just trying to cause an argument - so please grow up. :p

dude next time quote the source. should avoid unesscessary abuse.

it would help if you gave your own opinion after the quote as well.

Liverpool - England international to join?
27 Jan 2006 18:53

Liverpool could be set to make a summer move for Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips if the Blues gazump them in the race for Benfica midfielder Simao Sabrosa.

Reports from Portugal are claiming that the west London club are now in pole position to sign the Portuguese right-winger, who had been a primary target of Reds boss Rafael Benitez, at the end of the season.

Ironically, Simao's arrival at Stamford Bridge could then hasten the cut-price exit of Wright-Phillips, with Anfield being a possible destination.

Benitez has been a long-time admirer of the London-born midfielder, but lacked the financial clout to challenge Chelsea when Wright-Phillips made his £21m move from Manchester City last summer.

However, the 24-year-old has found himself on the fringes of the first-team squad, making just six Premiership starts this campaign, and the addition of Simao would push him further down the pecking order.
