One striker that it appears can be ruled out of the running is Sergio Aguero. According to UEFA.COM he is to sign for Atletico Madrid for  about €16million.
UEFA.COM - Aguero Story
It looks like Atletico are looking to Aguero to replace the possibly departing Torres as they've tied him down to a SIX year contract. To me that sounds like it might be a bit of a gamble considering he's only 17 and every striker at Atletico is held up in comparison to Raul. They compare their strikers to Raul in his pomp 'cos they released him from their academy before he joined Real Madrid.

So we're coming to the end of May.  I've summarized this month's rumours to see how we're doing with them actually coming true.

Players we're rumoured to be buying:
Not true; Aguero, DiViao.
Not true, yet at least; Viduka, Joaquin, Owen, Melli, Alves, Downing, Defoe, Prieto, Averlio, coach Macia.

Players we're rumoured to be selling:
Not true yet at least; Dudek, Cisse, LeTallec, Kewell.

And I'll put all the true ones (players bought and sold) together to save time and huge amounts of typing; err...Morientes.

So, how would you rate our performance?
:D
I suppose it shows
1) how much we can trust the media
2) how Rafa won't be rushed.

Wot about trying to get ronaldo. Probably still on of the best strikers in Europe proved in 3 different leagues that he can play at the highest level. Pace and Powerful, while he might be out of favour at Madrid. Although if he does well at the WC, which I can see him doing (as he will be puting himself in the shop window) I can see Inter or another top Italian team coming in for him.

Just found this on Sky...sorry if it's already been posted.

"Daniel Alves' agent believes Sevilla are pricing the highly-rated Brazilian out of the transfer market.

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido have slapped a £12.3million price tag on the 22-year-old full-back, with Liverpool reportedly willing to pay only £8.2million to secure his services.

Alves has also been linked with a move to Spanish and European champions Barcelona, but his agent Jose Rodriguez Baster believes Sevilla have purposely overpriced the talented youngster.

"(President Jose Maria) Del Nido has established a very high price for a right-back but I understand why because the club does not need to sell," said Rodriguez Baster.

"I do not remember so much ever having been paid for a full-back. (Roman) Abramovich (The Chelsea owner) offered 12m euros for Paulo Ferreira but we all know that Chelsea is in another world.

"He (Alves) has always said that he is happy with the club and the city where he is, but at the same time like any worker he is interested in improving."

Saw Ronaldo on ITV4 the other night playing for Brazil and having seen nearly all of Real Madrids games on Sky this season it amazed me how fat he'd gone in the three weeks since the end of the season. It cannot be a good thing for a professional footballer to gain that mush weight in such a short space of time. At least it took old Razor a whole off season to put weight on and not three weeks like that fat get. :p

He may be a fat tw@t but there is no doubting that he is still a class act, his finish is excellent, dribbling superb, control is top notch aswell and even though he is fat, he still has pace and power and am sure that rafa would be able to shift a few pounds off him and get him fit the same way he is with fowler so i personally would take ronaldo in a second, depending on his price that is; also his wages but i think he still has the ability to play another 3 years or so at the highest level.
