On a sidenote, in the first match he got called "Kite", even though I'd always called him "Koit". This was until last night when I found myself hearing the commentator call him "Kowt"

Which is it? I'll just call him Dirk.  :D

I heard the samething, the arabic commentator that i was listening too was calling him "kowt" right now, he said the reason he calls him that because he asked a dutch person how they prenounce dirk kuiyt, and he replied "kowt" so i think thats the reason.

but it is still bloody confusing  :D

Didn't Gullit say it was pronounced 'Kowt' before the match last night?

Yeah, still dont know the proper way to say it, maybe he will tell us if he signs! Ill stick with koit for now, only first heard the other 2 from the commentators since the world cup started
