i loved their versions of "ferry across the mersey" and "born to run" and liked them in general as a band. i wish there were bands with half their style and controversy coming out these days to knock all the manufactured and trivial sh!te back in the bin it came from.

all the people concerned about whether listening to frankie, the pet shop boys or whoever might make them gay really need to have a look at themselves.

I also like"ferry" and they're version if "Born to Run" was really powerful compared to the original by Springstein.

I remember when Two Tribes was No.1 back in 84, Relax came back up the chart to stall at No.2 behind Two Tribes for a few weeks. I thought that was awesome to have a band with the top 2 singles on the chart.

I was 10 years old when FGTH hit the charts in 84, and I didn't know what Homosexuality, Heterosexuality or bisexuality meant. I thought the music was great. Thats all that mattered to me. I thought Relax was about chillin out or being lazy :D

its not them being gay that anyone cares about. its that the music is gay... its like listening to ynca. its just too flouncy for me. so saying as i put earlier i love rufus wainwright, and no ones gayer than him.

the difference between someone being gay and something being gay is massive. its not pc but thats the way it is. saying its gay doesnt mean its homosexual, it means its bad. and saying something is bad doesnt mean being gay is bad... make ANY sense?

Kinell, Dawson, have you ever even listened to Metallica's music?  Some of the most intricate guitar, bass and drum work that you will find anywhere.  Fair play if they're not your cup of tea but, FFS, to suggest that a six year old could play the stuff they do is just talking out your a.rse.  :suspect:

Back on the subject of FGTH, I always appreciated their stuff...helps define that moment of music in the early 80s for me.  In fact, I was playing the clip of 'Power of Love' that Baz posted up last night and that led to a whole youtube song association game.  You know, you get watching a classic video on Youtube and start thinking about all the other great music from that era?  For the next few hours the missus and I scoured youtube for other classic tunes and vids from the early-mid 80s.  The higlight was deffo 'Alive and Kicking'...class tune!  :buttrock

Bang on the head there Bob. Metallica is or rather was an unbelievably good outfit....

Oh! and btw.... FGTH is just not my cup of tea.... I hate synthesized music.
