Futurama - Who's the funniest character?

I'd have to say Zapp Branigan purelybecause of the lines:
"I am the man with no name... Zapp Branigan" and "Kiff, I'm heading to the men's room and I'm going to be needing an attendan... oh, I'm sorry. You're crying like a woman". He's a legend and although I love Bender and Dr Zoidberg, Zapp is the funniest of the bunch. I wish they'd bring it back.

Don't watch it mate.  I just can't believe anything from the writers of The Simpsons can compete with their main cash cow, so rightly or wrongly, I have never given Futurama the chance it probably deserves.

I've gotta say Johnny, you're missing a trick. I suppose it was always going to suffer because people would view it as The Simpsons' little brother, and in many ways of course, it is. But it's a lot more besides and it has it's moments of sheer brilliance. You get the impression that it's the show Groening always wanted to do, but it was too unconventional to make it without the springboard of Springfield. Everyone has their preferences, but you should give it a go from the beginning and you may be happily surprised.

I've gotta agree with you on this Ace - Jonny you're missing a treat with Futurama. I was the same when it first appeared on Sky a few years ago for pretty much the same reasons as you Jonny but a couple of years ago i caught a couple of episodes on CH.4 and was immediately hooked. I now have the complete set of four series on dvd and after reading this thread last week have started watching them all again and still finding it as funny as if i were watching it for the first time. The one problem it'll always have with the uninitiated is that they'll compare it to the simpsons but will already have decided they aren't gonna like it 'cos it's not the simpsons.

I just love the episode that takes the p1ss out of Titanic, even right down to the bit with Bender holding the robot that he falls in love with  over the rails at the front of the ship. :D

I just can't decide who is the funniest character is between Bender and Zapp Brannigan.
Bender just cracks me up with his wise cracks and attitude - a lot like Stewie Griffin. Zapp Branigan is probably the funniest re-curring character because he's supposed to be the hero of the universe yet he's so damn stupid. :D

Leela: "Where are we?"
Zapp: "I don't know. This whole section is uncharted"
Kiff: "Ugh.. It is not uncharted. You lost the chart"

and
Zapp: "YOU WIN AGAIN GRAVITY!"

Is it only me that finds Amy (the chinese-looking girl?) attractive?
???

Even Leela isn't bad, and she's only got one eye.

Futurama is a great show. While it never comes close to the classic Simpsons episodes, it is a great show in its own right and I thought the creators were starting to find their feet when the show was pulled.
