For the love of god, dont go banding David Pleats name as a replacement, someone up there might think its a great idea.  Any new manager coming in, has to cut through the pile of non producing players, before we can even start to think about competing against the Gunners...

obviously we all want oneil as he could mould us into what we need to be.
id like to see curbishley tho, thats purely on an english patriotism note
a good young english manager would be very good but oneil would be the best

i reckon oneill is too reliant on the long ball, he would just do the same as houllier!

we need a passing manager like mourinho or benitez, if benitez can make us pass like valencia do then we would be flying, they knock the ball around brilliantly and showed it against marseilles in the uefa cup final

What if O'Neill not coming to Anfield, then, Doctor?

I don't know why everyone assumes O'neil plays long-ball. I have been chatting to a few of the Jocks on the Celtic boards to ask them what sort of football has been dished up these past 4 years. The general consensus is that Celtic play the ball out from the back, they keep it on the deck and they like to put in good crosses. How many good crosses have we seen at Anfield in the last 2 years? I'm still for O'neil. Mourinho would be my 2nd choice with Curbisley in 3rd. His name hasn't been mentioned but i have great admiration for Hitzfield. The guy has a fantastic record.

Curbishley - not my cup of tea.

I like Hitzfeld, he is one of best coaches in Europe, he has fantastic which I agree with Scottbot.

But can't see that happening, because i reckon he going to be next Germany manager after Euro 2004.
