New stadium - Vote

ok people, with talk of the new stadium and naming rights set to emerge again I just thought I'd put together a poll to assess two things:

1) what people make of selling naming rights and
2) whether we should build a whole new stadium or develop Anfield

This poll is not to discuss whether or not the development of Anfield can be carried out as I understand there's a lot of talk on that over in the New Stadium thread. This is purely to find out where the supporter's hearts lie on the matter

I'm not a match goer and perhaps their opinions are the most important in all of this BUT if it could be done, I'd rather stay at Anfield.

With regards to naming rights, they don't bother me either way. Extra bit of revenue never hurt anyone and I'd just call it Anfield anyway

I'd rather stay at Anfield to.  There's just too much history in the stadium and I'd hate to see it go, especially before I even get the chance to go watch a game there.  It's similar to the Red Sox situation in their ballpark, there was a lot of history and passion towards the stadium so they built onto it instead of building a new one.

Naming rights are fine as well.  From my understanding, we could be making another £10 million or so a season, and with the financial fair play rules and everything coming into affect, I think it's important we make all the cash we can. Like you said, I'd still always call it Anfield, and I think most people would do the same.

the best thing about naming rights for anfield is that we wud all still know it as anfield and id still refer to it as anfield, but with building a new stadium and it maybe ending up as the twizzler stadium just doesnt work, new stadium in my eyes has to be called stanley park

Stay at home , and sell the naming rights to whoever the highest bidder is .I couldn't give a f.uck if it was called the tampax dome as long as we can stay at anfield. It will always be known as Anfield anyway .

Staying at Anfield is not realistic and how much would we have to reduce capacity while they rebuild it? Its the fans who make the stadium not the other way round anyway, were the best fans because of the fans not the seats we sit in.

Gotta be realistic, naming rights is the only way to pay for either a new stadium or revamped Anfield. Anyone wallowing in sentimentalism is missing the point.

Henry has said there are many obstacles when it comes to redeveloping Anfield, which makes it sound like they are pushing more towards a new stadium.

Fantasy option would be redeveloping Anfield no naming rights

Realistic - new stadium naming rights

Apparently Arsenal got £100 million over ten years and apparently Man City will get £400 million over 15years for the naming rights to their stadium !

Heart says NO to a move and name change but head says it's the way to go.

We have to be realistic about the situation. For too long now we have not cashed in commercially and as a result have not been on par with our rivals financially. Just look at our match day revenue with the likes of Arsenal or Utd, not much more that needs to be said tbh. We need a new stadium and need to sell the naming rights. How the hell did City get 400mil and Arsenal only 100.

City deny it, but if it's true then there's some obvious dirty business going on.  No way the airline could afford that, especially not in these times.
