His appointment probably was not the first choice of most Liverpool supporters....
But given some of the names that were linked with us maybe it is not such a bad choice.
But he does have experience of both the Pemiership and European competitions.
He is also used to dealing with a smaller budget when compared with the bigger clubs.
The decision has been made - whether you like it or not.
Let's get behind him and see how he does.

Why I voted yes..

1. Great football contacts.
2. Premier league experience.
3. Proven to get the best out of average players (of which we have too many)
4. All players who play under him have massive respect for him.
5. Plays a good style of football.
6. Danny Murphy says he is absolutely certain he is going to be good for Liverpool and will put money on us being in the champions league the season after next.

I know he may not be the flashy trendy type of manager with a trophy laden track record but sometimes that blows up in your face anyway. Just look at Capello...  :shifty

I saw on Sky Sports news Roy Hodgsons first training session and Lucas was one of the first out to shake his hand.

Roy talking about tactics:

4-4-2

4-3-3

Interesting to see how he ticks

Being impressive in a news conference is worlds apart from being successful - for all his experience he still hasn't being successful - 30 years of management and still no trophy of note . Being a nice educated guy doesn't give you success as well , it may bring you friends but not success - look at two of the most recent successful managers - Maureen and taggert and those two are prob two of the most hated managers but they are successful . Roy will be judged on the pitch and nothing else -he has come in to steady the ship and keep us afloat not IMO to get us successful .

my only problem with saying he hasnt got a decent trophy in a decent league to boot is..........

look at the teams hes been at, he hasnt really been given the chance..

switzerland (national team never win shittt)
fulhum
blackburn
udinese
inter (only for 2 years, when in the era of mighty milan and juventus) people see inter on his cv and suddenly think of them as the current dominant force they are......back in his time milan and juventus were much bigger than inter
