ok, i think i know where  most people stand on this but it means trawling through numerous threads.

i dont expect a lengthy essay on reasons for your choice as we have all written them anyway in other threads, but its just an exersize to see what the popular vote is

if you'd add an option called "all of the above" thats the one id click on. a bit of everything has conspired o make this a very difficult start.

Too many top players not playing to their full potential.

"All of the above" except for:

1) Over confidence: if anything, I think lack of confidence is the bigger problem, primarily due to the run of poor results (a cumulative thing); I also think this is linked to there being so much pressure on the team to compete for the title right out of the blocks

2) Bad management: questioning the wisdom of Rafa's rotation and some of his tactics (which are other poll options) is fair enough but this goes too far, IMO

The defence is the least rotated part of the team other than injuries playing a part, I just think we've lost some of our defensive edge and many coaches seem to have sussed us, hence the amount of crosses we have to face every game?

IMO the players just look lethergic.  I know the WC was some months ago now, but maybe it's had an effect in ways we don't realise.

A mixture of things:

- Bad Luck
- Integrating a new centre back, left back and 2 strikers into the first team. Not to mention several other players.
- Not having last season first choice left sided midfielder available (when all else fails you go back to what has done well for you in the past)
- Over rotation. I am an advocate of rotation, but there must always be a base to your team with only 2 or 3 players being rotated in the less risky areas.

Too be honest I don’t think were struggling that much, the only performance that worried me was the Sheff Utd one. Its true that results have been poor, but we have conceded less shots on target that any other team in the league but have still conceded goals. It’s just a matter of grinding through this difficult period and continuing to integrate the new players.

IMO bad finishing is the main problem, we have had the chances but obviously cant put them away but we can only come good then i will be eating my words. :upside:

I think bad luck. Look at the Chelsea game as an example we we're inches away from winning the game with Kuyt effort on the cross bar and Gerrards inexplicable miss from 5 yards.
