Last season and the season before especially, Liverpool have not been great with penalty's. Alot of players have stepped up and failed in the past like gerrard, owen, hamann and so on.
We have not been able to get a great penalty scorer ever since murphy and mcallister.
who do you think should take our penalty's this season and why?

Cisse. He's a striker and every goal he can get will not only be vital for us, but for him as well. Plus, with his striker's touch and eye, he should have an easier time of it. Mind you, you'd think the same about Shevcenko too :D  !!! Otherwise, I'd let Nando do it. A bit of faith might do him the world of good as well.

I'd pick Alonso. No goalkeeper apart from Dida would have saved his penalty in the CL final

Disagree, not good with dead ball situations.

I'd pick Cisse.

Has to be Cisse ,penalty taking is all about confidence ,Cisse has by the bucket load. As for Alonso I don't think he has the mentality for peno's ,I know it was a massive occaision but he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights when he stepped up to take his pen in Istanbul . I just knew he was gonna miss it ,thank god he had the presence of mind to follow up .

I disagree, he can hit a ball better than any man on that team

Strikers are only happy when they are scoring goals, whether they are penalties or they come off their backsides. That's one reason I'd have a striker taking them.
I don't think it's healthy for the team to rely too much on one man, which is why I wouldn't have Stevie taking them.

My choice would be Cisse.

I don't care who takes then as long as they score :D

We have struggled in the penalty department for a few seasons now (remember when Owen couldn;t score one and last season Stevie G missed a few ???

I know you can't gauge a lot from one penalty but I liked Cisse's during the CL final, he looked assured and placed it well.

btw, didn;t Zenden take them for Boro ?

I think he did.

Just went to premierleague.com.  It said Zenden was 1 for 1 last year in taking penalties.  And he was the only Boro player to make one, so I guess Bolo could take some penalties.
