How much progress will we expect from Rafa by the end of the season? Maybe we should ask ourselves how much will we be satisfied with?

(1)I don't want to be more than 10 points off the top. Build good foundations and field the best team, not the highest salaries.

we should be aiming to win the title, but a top 3 finish would be a sound effort.

the best we can realistically hope for is top 3 and champions league quarter final. that would be a good season, as long as we aren't 30 points behind the winners and aren't out of the title race by october. we couldn't hope for a much better start with home games against portsmouth, man city, west brom and norwich. the league must take priority. that is what matters most to us fans.

Win the cup.  3rd in league, with a chance of winning it up to lst few games (behind Arsenal and Chelsea - think the mancs are on the slide) and quarter finals of champions league.  But more than anything, I want to see us getting close to that championship again.  Memories are starting to fade by now,  Can't believe it will be 15 years!!! 15!  I'm optimistic for the first time in 3 years though.  What I think we are definitely going to see this season that we haven't seen for some time is a different style of play at Anfield and some renewed optimism.  We need a pacy centreback though and someone skillful in midfield.  I think Kewell is going to be a different player this year, far more consisitent and that Villareal boy is probably going to join cos' we ain't gonna get Ayala.

Plenthy width and loads of attacking football, a top three finish, the F.A. cup and champions league quarter final.

If Rafa can put the fear of a Liverpool fixture in other teams, he'll be on his way.If he can do it by palying attacking football,
then 2004-05 should be a success.

Maybe throw in the Nobel peace prize as well whilst we are at it :p

To add a serious note .........

We can start by playing more attacking football, scoring some goals from Free kicks or penalties for that matter and not defending 1-0 leads ???

Maybe then we will find ourselves higher up the league, drawing less games and winning Cups
:p
