That's actually extremely funny.  But man do I miss Alonso as well.. Obviously cares for the reds.  Maybe there's hope we get him back one day.

Yeah so do I and circumstance of his leaving  really seems to have been symbol of when this club lost its way and wheels started falling off.

Alonso put in a transfer request to leave the club because big money Madrid came calling for him .

He can rot alongside people like Torres and Masher.

lol sure Benny he is rotting in Real Madrid, he just won a La Liga medal.

one great season? he had a fantastic first season as well, his injuries made him lose his form, but when he was fit he always looked like a class player.

So why when the club were looking to sell him during the Barry saga no one was willing to pay 13 mil for him - Juve would pay 10 and and Arsenal 11 i think but no one was willing to match his price. He did well when he first arrived but then he suffered for a couple seasons hence why the club looked to move him because they thought he wasnt producing enough ( i can remember plenty thinking the same ) he then went onto to have a storming season for us and Madrid come in for him and he puts in a request and goes.

Putting in a transfer requests imo means you no longer want to play with the shirt on your back - the same with Torres and Masher . All fantastic players for us and i idolised them until they cut their ties.

Still pure class and I still miss him

Almost teared up yesterday. Suarez and Torres got all the hype but for me it was all about seeing Xabi and Gerrard together again. Most definitely my second favorite player.

We should never have got rid of Xabi.

I still blame Rafa. He pretty much forced Xabi out. I mean, he wanted Gareth Barry to come in over Xabi!! I still can't get my head around it to this day...

Yeah, sure Xabi had injuries but my goodness, there was no better passer of the ball at the club during his spell. He was phenomnal in his last season, 08-09 and we nearly won the league. Torres and SG might have got most of the plaudits but Xabi was at the heart of everything we did.

Even now I'd have him back - like a shot. Him or Allen in the middle, um, that's a tricky one. Xabi all day long.

Still class and still miss  him
