I would go with Phil Neal as well, but as Owzat says, I absolutely loved Steve Nicol!

The guy could play anywhere, was one of the fittest in the club despite his tendancy to eat fish and chips every day, had enormous feet, and was one of the best players ever to don a Pool shirt.

Does anyone remember the game in the 1987/88 season when he scored a couple in a game: one of the goals was a header from about 30 yards out!

I remember that header. Can't remmber who it was against - Keep thinking it was against Arsenal or Sheffield Wednesday (first game of new season maybe?) Tis a bit blurry, i would only have been 13/14

phil neale. i don't think he missed a game for liverpool in about 9 seasons? i stand to be corrected but that is phenomenal. it just makes you laugh when you hear players and managers these days moaning about being tired. it's laughable! :D

I think the figure was eight or nine seasons, and that is just outstanding.

Could you see Smicer not missing a game for nine seasons?

Sorry but im gonna have to go for Rob Jones, the guy never scored :(
He always managed to hit the post in important finals and was a great player and i was gutted when he had to retire. Why didnt anyone let him take a penalty?
Also Heggum was coming on to be a legend, but yet another injury :(
Phil Neale was better, more consistent, but i just preffered Jones, top boy
