As a survivor I am grateful to be alive but patently aware of the fact that 96 fans who love the club every bit as much as I do went to watch their beloved LFC and didn't return home ..............

HILLSBOROUGH families today welcomed the Football Association’s decision to mark Saturday’s Merseyside FA Cup semi final at Wembley with a minute’s silence.
Margaret Aspinall, chairwoman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG), called the gesture “lovely” and “appropriate” and she said the moment of reflection will show the “unity” between Evertonians and Liverpudlians.
Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard, who lost his cousin John-Paul Gilhooley at the disaster and Blues skipper Phil Neville will also present HFSG members with bouquets of flowers on the pitch before the match.
Both players will also lay tribute flowers to the 96 Hillsborough victims at the pitch-side.
The players in Saturday’s match and Sunday’s other semi-final between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will all wear armbands to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the tragedy.
Today Mrs Aspinall, who lost her 18-year-old son James at Hillsborough, told the ECHO: “What the FA are going to do is a lovely gesture to the families because it is so close to the tragedy’s anniversary.
“The FA called me to ask me if we wanted a minute’s applause or a minute’s silence and we thought that a minute’s silence was more appropriate because that is what we have always had to remember Hillsborough.

A timely reminder of how football and all it evokes is made to pale into insignificance when remembering those fans that lost their lives .

Great to see the whole squad there. Along with the likes of David Moyes, Alan Hansen, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish ETC.
some of the tweets that came in from past players of the club and players of other clubs. Most Noteable to me was that of Nuri Sahin and Also of Borussia Dortmund the clubs official Twitter account.
15th of April is a very sad day for everyone connected to the club but it also shows how magnificent this club and its supporters are that 24 years on they are still fighting for the truth and being supported fully.
