Best/worst cover versions

So many playlists, so little time.

How do you feel when you hear a favourite song tried out for size by another artist?

Saint Etienne's cover of Neil Young's Only Love Can Break Your Heart is one of my favourites; whereas Robert Palmer (RIP) destroyed Marvin Gaye. Paul Young singing 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' should have earned him a jail sentence; Billy Bragg does a version of the Four Tops' 'Walk Away Renee' that makes me weep.

Any suggestions? ???

Counting Crows do a good cover of big yellow taxi and I've got a cover of the beatles "I should have known better " by a ska band called the Skaterlites  it is so ropey that its actually quite brilliant ,all the insruments are out of key everyone is playing at their own pace but the beat is there. you can't help but smile at the cheek of these guys. They also had the nerve to retitle the tune "independence anniversary ska "
:D
