His agent is Saif Rubie and this is what he is saying.

Liverpool have been accused of “mentally bullying” Bobby Duncan by representatives of the 18-year-old and holding the player against his will after rejecting two loan offers for the striker.

Saif Rubie, Duncan’s agent, issued an extraordinary statement on Twitter on Wednesday that claimed the boyhood Liverpool fan has not left his house for four days because of stress and will not return to the club. It also condemns Liverpool’s sporting director, Michael Edwards, claiming he refused to allow the striker – a cousin of Steven Gerrard – to join Fiorentina or Nordsjælland on loan with a view to a permanent transfer next summer.Liverpool insist the allegations are unfounded and that the statement is littered with inaccuracies. The club has not ruled out taking legal action over what it considers to be defamatory claims against itself and Edwards.

Rubie’s outburst followed Liverpool’s rejection of a loan move to Fiorentina for Duncan, who endorsed and pinned his agent’s tweet before removing it. The teenager, who joined Liverpool from Manchester City in August 2018 having stalled on a new contract, played for Jürgen Klopp’s team during pre-season having been top scorer for the under-18s last term with 32 goals.

The statement released by Rubie alleged: “A few months ago before the end of last season, Bobby had meetings with the club’s hierarchy including academy director Alex Inglethorpe. It was recognised that Bobby wasn’t happy at Liverpool for different reasons and Alex invited us to bring offers to the club for the exit of Bobby Duncan.

“For a player with zero first-team experience, no clubs were prepared to pay an outright reasonable [sic] fee for a player they got for £200,000 last summer. With that in mind we have been able to find clubs that were ready to take Bobby on a season-long loan with a option to buy for amounts of £1.5m upwards which is a great return for the club on a player who will never play for the Liverpool first team and who doesn’t want to be there.

“The club and Michael Edwards specifically made it clear that that kind of deal wouldn’t work. So then myself and my team worked even harder and managed to get a deal on the table for a loan with an obligation to buy after five starts with a higher transfer fee than before and a sell-on to Liverpool.”

It added: “The real reason Bobby missed the under-23 game [against Southampton] on Monday is because he has suffered some deep mental health issues with all the stress the club has put him under. Stress of being told he can leave but then going out of their way to force him to stay against his will. Not only is he on a very small salary but he also has one season left on his contract after this one and Liverpool have flatly said he will not get a new one.

“Bobby has not left his room for four days because of this and will never go back to Liverpool again and my only concern now is his mental health and wellbeing … It’s a sad state of affairs that a club such as a Liverpool can be allowed to get away with mentally bullying and destroying the life of a young man such as Bobby.”

He obviously wants out and his agent will do whatever it takes to get it and he won't be the first to do it either. Remember Aidy Ward and what he did in order to secure Sterlings exit ?.  We were absolutely disgusted at his carry on but yet went back to him a few seasons later to sign Ox. All forgiven Aidy and welcome back to Anfield with a nice bonus and heres another one when he signs a new deal.

He is claiming his player is unhappy at the club for a while and they had discussions with the club regarding it and were told to get offers to secure his departure which they did. A fee of 1.5 million represents 7.5 times what we paid and he is saying there was add ons so realistically how much are we holding out for. Him releasing this information now is just a last ditch attempt to get the player what he wants and that is what he is employed to do.

The player is just as guilty as the agent imo and the Club threatening legal action isn't going to help matters.

Personally, I think this Saif lad is full of pooh.
First off, he mentions money, money, money... He deliberately mentions his esteemed relative Stevie G to try to add credibility. He publicly talks about mental health issues all over social media (really not the best thing to do if he has legit mental health issues!).
The lad is at a club where youth gets a chance.... If they're good enough.
He should be telling the lad to bide his time.

FWIW I agree Bungle but he is more than likely doing what he is told by his employer who happens to be the player. He even endorsed and pinned the tweet before removing it so he knew fine well what the man was saying on his behalf.

The blame lies with the little snowflake toerag imo who has probably never been told no in his life. He had a contract dispute at City which resulted in him quitting them to come here so the writing was on the wall regarding his conduct.

Take the offer on the table and pack him off simple as that  :nod

Considering how much LFC have paid agents in the past 3 years I'm sure we have a very pretty tough way of dealing with these blood sucking leeches. As to the player himself, he's looking at 12 months on the U21 bench and the end of his career unless he STFU.

I’m not sure he looks that good from what I’ve seen.

I hope we have a growing number of black listed agents. Only by the top clubs black listing these sharks can football force a higher standard of ethics onto approved agents.

If only it was that easy Reg cos if that lad has a player on his books that we want then we will deal with him just like we did with Aidy Ward.

In the meantime this is what the ballbag had to say after he succeeded in getting his clients wish granted.
https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/f ... e-16858577

For me the Agent is only a small part of the problem and their strings are being pulled by the client. He came through on this occasion and as a result his phone is probably ringing off the hook with young lads wanting his services.
The truth in all this is that Bobby Duncan is a little shyte hawk, Had problems at city that resulted in him spending his last few months training on his own and then he moved here bringing his shyte attitude with him. If he ain't getting his way at Fiorentina he will pull the same shyte again because he is a little shyte hawk  :nod

He'll be in the championship on loan before you know it...

Zaha apparently unhappy he didnt get his move during the summer and now will sign with this upstanding fine gentleman of the game.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.caught ... lient/amp/

I had read another article in another publication more reputable than the link posted but can't find it now. The point is that these players want everything they can get and more and would sign a contract with the devil himself to get it. They couldn't give a stuff about the club they play for or what their agent does to grant them their wish.

The lad would be better off trying to improve his game to get his move rather than add to a reputation thats built on hype and promise.

I think Klopp could work wonders with Zaha. Hugely talented. But if it meant paying that gee.bag an agent's fee, let him go...
