I am truly sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Stu has passed away. I have been friends on Facebook with him for a number of years but only an hour did I stumble across this thread and his obviously brave battle with cancer. It prompted me to check his Facebook page and I gathered he passed on March 12th.

I'm stunned. Desperately sad to hear it Scott, it happened all so quickly. I don't know if he had a family but my thoughts and prayers go out to them.

RIP Stu, Walk on, walk on, with all in your heart.

Oh sweet lord ,devastated by this news ,the last time I spoke to him by PM I promised him when he was feeling better we would get some local forum members
together and have a drink before the match .....I feel the forum has lost a poster who never disguised he wore his heart on his sleeve ,and one who never even
entertained the notion of being any less passionate.

My thoughts are with his family and his girlfriend at such a sad time.

Stu was a real Stand Up Red who really knew his football and set very high standards/expectations of the team hence his rather colourful rants and forthright opinions. I am just gutted to have only discovered his struggles today and not to have been able to lend some emotional support. I chatted to him quite a lot around 06-09 and we watched a Liverpool Spurs match together (must have been around 07), it was a 2-2 draw with Torres scoring a 90th minute headed equaliser for us. Stu gave just as good from the stands as he did in here! I guess he would have been about 23 then, I really can't get my head around such a young lad losing his life so quickly and it's left me feeling totally numb. It sounds as though he faced up to the fight the same way he would one of the football no nothing's in a typical thread. Gutted.

Over the years I had many a fall out with Stu , lost count of how many times I binned him from the forum when his "passion" got the better of him, but knowing if he could just show some control he'd be a valued member of our little community I always let the bugger back in.

I'm absolutely gutted to hear he's left us for good    :(

Just reading through the posts he's made in this thread brings a tear to the eye.

RIP Stu, I'll miss you mate.

Devastating news.

I've not been on here a while but have been regularly lurking for updates from Stu. Whilst we fell out a lot over football, a few months before he was diagnosed with cancer we buried the hatchet in a few PMs. After then we started to actually form the beginnings of a friendship.

Such a sad loss, I was truly hoping to catch up with him again. :(

RIP

Hi Scott,

Thanks very much for letting us know, you confirmed what many of us feared. Extremely sad news. Most of us have known Stu for many years through this forum, as Woof said, we've all fallen out with him, been glad to see the back of him and then found the forum enriched when he came back. It's very sad to hear he passed away with so much life still to lead. It's strange as well because he wrote about his fears here on Newkit, even before he was diagnosed, he wrote about his diagnosis and his treatment and I know he found support on here which helped him get through his treatment. We've lost one of the great characters off the forum. It would be great if we could convey our best wishes to his family at this time.

End of.

Devastating. Thoughts go out to Stu and his family during this awful period of time.

Knew his football, Dean Ashton aside.  :D

RIP Stu, YNWA  :)

Absolutely gutted. Feared the worst when he hadn't been on in a while.

He was a good lad who loved his football. Enjoyed chatting online with him over the years.

RIP mate.

Oh no, that is terrible news.
Stu was such a larger than life character it's hard to believe that he's gone.
Even though I never met him when I logged on before and read this thread I was genuinely shocked.
Thoughts go out to his family, girlfriend and friends.
Stu, where ever you are mate it was a privilege to discuss the Reds with you. YNWA mate.
