My little boy has got it. (man in the making)

Last time he had it, he passed it onto me, I got a fvcking chest infection out of it. Thought I was dying, haven't been that sick for years.

What it is...

Is men are so much more physically fit than women (in general as we play more sport and are of bigger build etc) so when we are ill.... we feel it more as it takes more out of us.

Thats what I was once told by a doctor in the pub when we were ***** and it seems like a perfectly reasonable and rational explanation.

Who on here is fit to argue with a doctor? Not many... so as far as I'm concerned... he's right.

:D

Was dying for about 2 weeks!
Tried painkillers, nasal sprays, cough bottles, chicken soup + garlic, and just about every over the counter / home remedy possible.

Eventually sucked it up and went the doc to get some real drugs.

I also recommend this, though doing it is not that easy due to the heat. But it always helps me get better so I just cope with it.

Add fresh crushed ginger, honey, fresh lemon juice and cinnamon to boiled water and leave to percolate for a few minutes, strain and drink. Drink 3-4 times a day....works well!

Ginger is an antiseptic and is good for respiratory ailments
Honey coats the throat and is also an antiseptic. Try and use local honey.
Lemon juice although acidic provides vitamin C
And the hot water along with allowing the ingredients to seep helps kill the germs by raising the temp
