Mods - Insults and abusive language

Is it now acceptable to tell posters to "f*ck off " , or call them "c.unts" or "tw.ats" or "pri.cks"
We seems to have a group of posters who are incapable of posting replies without an insult "like I have mentioned " being posted ?
I'm sure a few are a bit young so don't really understand interaction on a mature level where as some were prob dragged up
Yesterday was a perfect example - a new poster made a comment in the Andy Carroll thread about the abuse only to be told get their nose out of it - such a great welcome to a new poster. We should be expecting more to come flooding in after that.

The mods have lives too you know. FFS Benny it's just a bit of online banter.. don't take things so seriously mate. Brush it off and give some back.

most of the posts referred to were deleted when I got off my sorry lazy a**e...some posts today have been binned but I'm not going to spend my working day patroling the playground

Well, since you asked, I'd say it's definitely a two-way street, Benny. You have an uncanny knack for pushing people's buttons and then trotting out the righteous indignation when they react. Some might call it trolling and it certainly doesn't encourage me to rush to your defence. Why don't you, Roger Red Hat and RichardLFC1 all stick each other on ignore for awhile? a little self-moderating might be just the ticket.
