england were dreadful. ireland not much better but both won so it's onwards and upwards i suppose. things can only get better.

wales-sa about to start in 15 minutes. should be good.

south africa were awful earlier. wales were by far the better side and will be kicking themselves that they didn't win.

in all seriousness though it was unsurprisingly an unspectacular start to the tournament. it's been more about the underdogs than the power nations so far. georgia, japan and wales have all been excellent.

australia-ireland in a bit. can't see ireland winning unless they seriously up their level.

boy have they upped their level . 15-6 ireland with 7 minutes to go.

this result relly throws the cat amongst the pigeons as it would effectively throw australia, south africa and new zealand into the same side of the draw.
