Last week the missus bought a signed first edition hard back copy of the final book in the series  "A Dance with Dragons".
£25 effing quid from Foyles in London.    .

For a small fee I'll tell you how the saga ends.   :D

It is not the final book, it is only the last appeared.

Two more to come, in a decade or so  :kungfu:

Anyone read fourth book yet, Feast of crows?
After developments at end of third book I was looking to how it panned out.
However I've heard fourth book doesn't really cover big stories and instead focus on narratives from lesser characters

Fourth book (Feast of crows) and fifth book (A dance with dragons) are parallel books (fourth book focuses on one set of characters, fifth book on the other ones). Hence, if your favourite character is Tyrion for example you need to wait until you grab your hands on the fifth book. I read the Feast of crows and wouldn't call them lesser characters, some of them are quite important (Jaime, Cersei, Arya, Sansa, to name a few) but it is true sometimes you miss some of the story threads (Tyrion, Daenaerys, and some others I don't remember)

I have no idea about the last two books though (6th and 7th), as they are only in George Martin's head (and maybe outlines on his computer) - but I think the titles have already been decided.

Got round to watching the first season and thought it was absolutely incredible. I never thought in a million Sean Bean was gonna bow out the way he did. I've absolutely loved it. I haven't started watching the second series but the first ended pretty nicely. I'm looking forward to getting the second on blu ray

That Joffrey is a right little kunt mind

Sons of Anarchy will keep me occupied til then

Don't know about MH but I'm not finding it quite as enthralling as the first series. It jumps around a lot (as do the books), seems like they've tried to condense a lot of stuff into each episode and keep the TV audience interested but I'm thinking it can maybe be a bit confusing if said audience haven't read the books.

Nevertheless  it's still definitely worth watching.

After all the hype on here about the game of thrones I decided to watch it. I think I'm now bang up to date with it, which is a shame because I like DL the whole series and kicking back on a Sunday afternoon and watching them one after another.

It's not a bad show, they tend to add armies in here and there as the show goes on to stretch it out ala LOst, but the insest is what gets me, kin'el the young @rsehole king is the son of his mother and his uncle. it has a 'Sparticus' sex orientated theme which keeps me intrigued. I like the little dwarf from death at a funeral.

Im still enjoying it Greavesie but yes with character now spreads all over the land, it does jump from place to place. Really do jump in scenes without little buildup, still entralling but im glad im read the books I would be a little lost. Only time will tell whether hour TV show can do the story justice
I also like the little dwarf who was in Death at a funeral but apparently not in that U2 music  video which featured a funeral  :D

I don't think the characters are too confusing, it's fairly understandable who is is who right now :D  you get a bit lost at the begining of the season but then it's very straightforward. I agree, it's still in it's building up phase.

i'm still trying to work out what's going on and who exactly is who and who is on whose side and why. fortunately my GF read the books and is keeping me just about in touch. a couple of things i've got pretty much straight though is that joffrey is still a dick head and loads of birds in the middle ages had nice tits.
