Dunno, mate.  I've not got around to that one yet.  The air it on Friday nights over here and my high-rollin' lifestyle means I miss it every week.  :D

Seems to be mostly British actors.  For some reason American audiences will only believe Ancient Greek and Roman movies if they are done with a British/Australian Accent or buy a British/Australian actor.  Doesn't actually look good, but it probably should have been good. So much drama you can make with the senate and gladiators and such.

I've seen the first two episodes and there fecking cheese, it aint bad if you like lesbians and an abundance of sex. But if you do like that sort of stuff 'animal farm' is much better, without the lesbo's.

The acting is puss, the backgrounds are as fake as, too much digital c.rap with fake blood splashing all over the place and on the camera lens.

I watched the first one. It tries to be too much like 300, but done on the cheap.  Plus 300 is good for one big epic movie, but I am not sure that style would translate to tv well, even if it was done on a big budget.  Would have much preferred if it was done by the same people that did Rome.

Most of the ancient rome stuff is questionably historically accurate anyway, so I don't see why they don't just create a whole new set of characters and storylines just set in the times of the Roman empire and have a bunch of sex and violence and betrayal  and politicking, etc. etc. but without the bad cgi.

Finally got around to checking out Mad Men.
Absolutely hooked after first few episodes which is quite surprising for me considering total absence of nudity, violence and action

can't believe HBO passed on it, it would have been even better with more cussing and nipples.

Also, new HBO show looks good, "How to Make it in America" its got a sort of Entourage vibe to it, but its in New York City and they aren't famous.  I also don't get why its called how to make it in America, you could take the plot and characters and throw them in London with cockney accents and would be totally believable.

how to make it in america trailer

lock, stock
