Lost was the first of these mega series I watched with the family and we loved it. The final episode was deep, almost religious and we were still talking it through days later. It tied up most of the loose ends but left you to piece together the rest. It was very emotional, the missus was in tears etc.. The realisation and acceptance of their predicament.

I haven't watched a single minute of GOT.

The missus decides what we watch to a large extent (ie less violent) the following Netflix are worth a go: Gran Hotel (takes a couple of episodes to get going),   La catedral del mar (both in Spanish with English subtitles but very enjoyable). Alias Grace etc..

Watched the Deadwood movie and as a fan of the show really enjoyed it.
For  the time allowed in a movie thought it was  a good send off for a show taken far too early off the screens

Finally started watching Counter Part and absolutely hooked after first couple of episodes , J.K Simmons is pure class

Stuck indoors and watching loads of stuff , if you fella's are stuck for recommendations here's my list of show's I totally enjoyed in recent weeks.

In no particular order.

Ozarks (season 3) binge watched on Netflix.  popcorn rating 8/10  :buttrock
Bosch (season 6) binge watched via torrent. popcorn rating 7/10  :nod
Homeland (season 8) watching week by week, totally engrossed . popcorn rating 8/10  :nod
Better Call Saul ((season 5) watching week by week , can't miss it ! popcorn rating 9/10  :bowdown
Killing Eve (season 3) watching week by week. so good I'm tempted to wait til it's done and do a binge watch ! but I just can't help myself ! popcorn rating 10/10  :bowdown

Other random stuff, away from movies and tv
Found and been following a young German fella (who sounds like Klopp  :D  ) on YouTube who's been trying to hitch hike around the world without spending any money (apart from food/accommodation) on any actual cost of transportation. Inspiring stuff.
Check him out if you're looking for a travel vlog that's a bit different

Been watching "Gangs of London"

Possibly the most violent series I've ever seen on TV.
If you like your action Raw and very bloody check it out.

P.S the trailer gives just a sniff of the violence to come, maybe they didn't want to scare people off !   :lookaround

Foundation ,Apple TV's epic new Science Fiction series will be the flagship for their streaming service.

I was blown away by this visually stunning and engrossing new series ,the acting is of the highest caliber and the writing never strays from the classic book by Isaac Asimov. Jared Harris from the much lauded 'The Terror' is on fine form as Harry Seldon the mathematician who develops an algorithmic science that allows him to predict the future in terms of probabilities. It truly is a feast for the eyes ,some of the scenes are bordering on mesmeric.

Many Saints of Newark

James Gandolfini was a quite brilliant character actor who completely commanded a screen whenever we were blessed to see him ,his son however is unfortunately not 'albeit from being the spitting image of his dad'. Sadly and in terms of emulating his dads talent he offers little.Maybe this is the reason they decided to take the movie in a completely different direction by affording him less scenes than they originally intended when he was cast in the role ? I don't know ,but something feels disjointed about the whole direction, like it was impatiently pieced together after someone threw the most integral and intelligent parts away.

A lot was expected and little was delivered. I think why this movie was so eagerly anticipated was it promised to detail the young life of Antony Soprano and provide an insight into this clearly troubled character and yet it somehow managed to do neither.

The film starts in a graveyard with narration provided by one of the deceased and incidentally a victim of an older and less trusting Tony Soprano and in my opinion it should have been buried in that same graveyard. I just think the whole film is cluttered and convoluted and affords the viewer so many sub plots it loses what made the Soprano's such an epic show.
