Lanzorote: boring as sh.ite.

Thats just my opinion, nice enough island as these places go, but my head literally melted with boredom three days into a 14 day holiday there six years ago.

Then again, I'm not a sun holiday, sit on the beach type person.

judge mate, hire a car for a day when you're there and drive around the whole island - it's a stunning landscape inland - like a moonscape off a sci-fi film. very weird looking place, but beautiful in its own way. there's also a 'cactus garden' place up in the north somewhere - worth a visit if you like odd stuff

best beach is playa blanca in the south, cheapest beer is the big supermarkets on the outskirts of arrecife  :buttrock

This guy knows his stuff.

If you hire a car, whatever you do, please please please head to the Volcano, it is stunning. Some say it's like being on Mars, some say its a beautiful part of the world, some say it's like no other, all i know, is its called Mount Timanfaya (Sorry couldn't resists the top gear pun)
But seriously, do it. The lava fields are spectacular, to say the least. Famara is nothing special, though they say its one of the best beaches, i beg to differ. Head to Teguise for the market on a Sunday to, its huge!
