If there were 400 pills and still only one deadly one. I would swallow one for 10,000 pounds, because that would be 20,000 dollars, and I would take a 1/400 chance at that.  Psychologically I wonder (if ppl took it seriously) if the results across a large amount of ppl would change if you played Russian Roulette and there were 33 guns (each a 6 shooter) on a table and one of them had one bullet and you were paid 20,000 pounds for every time you pulled the trigger.  I certainly think Age, class, income are HUGE factors as well that would needed to be compensated for if you were just using the game to measuring how risky someone was.

Also would be interesting to see if there were 200 balls and everytime you picked a white one out blind folded you got 20,000 pounds but there was one black one that meant life in prison without parole.

thank you!!!
who woulda thunk that someone who just reminds me of chris farley would give the best darned answer of the day. cheers mate.

personally i dunno if id take any. if theres a 1/400 chance of dieing just for that much money... i dunno. the poeple who say one will normally go up to 10... people wh say more than that are just liers.

I was trying to think of what kind of situation is equal to a 1/400 chance of dying. Some kinds of cancer I guess, and those can last a long time and be very painful and cost a lot of money.  At least the pill would be quick and I would actually get money.

If I had the choice of optional surgery that would improve my life 20,000 pounds worth (not sure what that means, but for me would probably be some kind of lypo or height enhancer. And that there was also going to be no pain involved and it was pretty much a one off and you go on living but there was a .5% chance that I would die in the surgery, I would probably still go ahead with it.

I suppose many would take a 0.5% chance, but that increases with each pill you take, and the point of the question is how many would you take.

yea that last bit would only apply as like a follow up or to study the difference between ppl who chose any at all but wouldn't choose this other option or the other way around
