And Enter the Void, which I watched today. It's actually in English, well mostly... But it's set in Tokyo. Anyway it's about a drug dealer who's spirit watches over his stripper sister after he dies. Lots of drugs, lots of drugs and lots of general seediness. It's a bit grim but very well made. Watch it! In fact go watch it now.

I watched enter the void the other day. I usually love this pretentious BS but this was too much even for me!

Watch Requiem for a Dream if you want a good film in a similar vein.. this was pretty poor.

Got RFAD on DVD, that was just downright depressing.

BTW Red, it's available now from "DDDHouse" in Hong Kong, Blu-Ray is about £12-£14 .

I've used them many times over the years never had a problem, very reliable, delivery has always been within two weeks .

Their cheap sale is also worth checking out, some great stuff for between £2-£5

New to me Red but I'll deffo be keeping an eye open for a download  :pirate  :D

ps. Red Cliff is a favourite of mine but I enjoyed "Three Kingdoms - Resurection of the Dragon" even more. Same story as Red Cliff,  not as spectacular but has more deeply drawn characters.

If you're into them, another Chinese "historical" epic to look out for is The Lost Bladesman. Starring Donnie Yen, it looks the mutts nuts

The Lost Bladesman-trailer

btw finally got my mitts on good quality torrent with decent subs for,

13 Assassins

watched it last night , loved every minute of it.  Image 9/10

Saw 13 Assasins at the cinema, genius, but Miike is one of my favourite directors, even found a viewing of Audition and Ichi the Killer at the cinema

He's done a remake of the 1962 classic "Hara Kiri"

Review aren't that great but I'm looking forward to seeing it .

Those crazy Koreans are at it again. Watched "Bedevilled" last night. A slow paced but engrossing drama that eventually erupts into some pretty hardcore violence.

Although the film torrent has them I couldn't find a trailer with subs, but here's a taste.

Not one for the general masses BUT once again the Japs come up with a blood drenched slow burner.

The scene where a woman cuddles up to and hugs the torso of the partner she just dismembered is just beyond my imagination, gross, yet brilliant.

Well worth a watch Cold Fish trailer

Did you catch Love Explosion on film4?

Man that films weird. It's basically 4 hours of a guy turning into a ninja cameraman to take photos up gals skirts so his priest father will hit him. then theres swords and blood.

Very odd
