well here is what the ias at the The Natural History Museum
sent back to me.

Dear Mr Ralph,

Thank you for the photos. Spider 1 is a False Widow Spider (Steatoda nobilis). Please read more about this spider here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steatoda_nobilis

For the Steatoda nobilis bite, please read this page:

http://www.nhm.ac.uk/nature-online/l...lse-widow.html

Spider 2 is a Walnut Orb-Weaver Spider (Nuctenea umbratica). Its bite is described on our web site:

http://www.nhm.ac.uk/nature-online/l...ve-spider.html

I hope you will find this information useful. Please send us more photos of interesting or unusual animals you may find in the UK.

Yours truly,

The Good Yank wrote:Lakes, have you ever tried any pesticides?  Or even a "Yard Guard" type of product?

mate you should have seen me for the last two nights, i have been out in the garden its been Man V earwig.
i would say i have killed over 3000 .......and still they come, i can not find the nest, as they only have been coming out at night.

tonight i have run out of pesticides, i have used 5 liters of it as it takes two shots per earwig to kill it lol.

tonight i might turn to the elastic band lol
