I just finished all 5 Seasons and have to say it was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Brilliant storylines and brilliant acting. Anyone else watch this?

My son was bangin' on about this series , knows I like cop shows and reckoned this was the best ever so I DL'd series 1 and 2 . Series one was pretty good , not great but pretty good, series two bored me to f'uckin tears. Maybe it was the storyline or just the slowly dawning realisation that not one of the main characters actually interests me . My lad says "It gets better" but f'uck that , gimme Detective Vic Mackey and the Strike Team in "The Shield" any day of the week.

Id agree the Shield is better but your son is right is does get better.

Yer know , i'm so f'uckin' bored, all the good series seem to have recently had their finales and there's bu'gger all else to watch (Fu'ck Euro footy) I might just DL series 3 and give it a go.

I just finished the first series, really enjoyed it. It's a real slow burner but very morish. I thought it was excellent. Am gonna grab the 2nd series once i've watched the final 9 Sopranos. I've been putting off watching them coz i don't like the thought of there being no more Sopranos.

never watched the wire, the shield and couldnt stand the sopranos... hope this addition to the thread was helpful

The Wire is the best show ever. I have been calling my little brother Naymond or Weebay for the past two years even though his name is Kevin just because I like the Wire so much. Being from Maryland it was incredible how accurate everything seemed and Dominic West, who is English and plays McNulty has an ridiculously good Balmer accent for someone who isn't even from America, much less Baltimore which is a tricky accent to fake
this one is decent : Bmore accent
Anyway I don't think the Wire will ever be bettered as a series. with season 1 being the best. and I think season 4 was #2 Season 3 is 3rd, season 2 4th and the last season being the worst. Heard that they were going to do a 6th season about the latino aspect of the drug game in Bmore but nobody on the write staff spoke spanish and it would have recquired too much research because they want to do everything perfectly.

I never new McNulty was English, he plays the character very well. But for me the best character on the show has to be Omar Little. The scene when he had to take the stand in court wearing a tie was brilliant.
Is there any talk of them making a sixth season Joe or is that it?
