Don't get me wrong, Lampard is a good player, but when you pair him with Gerrard you don't get the best out of either of them.

Both of them play better alongside an anchor man,i.e Makalele, Hamann.

So if its a straight choice between the two, I would pick Gerrard every time.

is there any bias in you picking gerrard ?

Gerrard is clearly better than Lampard, anyone who suggest otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

I agree. Even Chelsea fans say that Gerrard is better than Lampard

theres been numerous occasions when england have played as equally as bad, in fact, not since 1966 have england really played well enough. remember the failure against sweden when graham taylor was in charge.

you have a short memory

England were terrible against Spain but also very poor against Brazil in 2002. I hope Wednesday was a one off.

england will never win the world cup until they learn how to play proper footaball, which includes high levels of technique and skill as well as our traditional work ethic and get stuck in attitude. Englands problem is always down to lack of skill, we love long ball specialists and hard workers and leave all the skill on the bench, players like mcmanaman, joe cole and wright phillips left out in favour of beckham, anderton and lampard, the midfield has no balance what so ever, gerrard, beckham, lampard and scholes were all to similar in style, there was no variety.

England need a Manager who will play the right balance of players , regardless of reputation, England always get a manager who has his stupid favourties that fail to produce or players that get in because they play for big clubs

The game aganinst Spain showed that Lampard is overated, Alsono and Xavi made him look average. He just coulden't keep the ball and he coulden't get it off them when they had it.

I dunno why he could of handpicked which clubs who could afford him he wants to go maybe he wants to stay close to his family? but surely moving to europe will devlop his game playing against the best players week in week out.He could of devolped his game even more on the international scene cus more people will notice him in teams such as juve etc .But he proably wants to play in brazil without the added pressure on him to be the leader of the team go move by Corinthians when they sell him will get double their money back,I read on another forum that that investor is Abramovich. And that he's bringing other Argentinian talents to Corinthians too. So maybe Tevez's future is with Chelsea... I'm not sure though.
