Won his first game for Rangers in a Europa league tie.

I will keep on eye on the scottish league this season. I really hope he does well and pushes Celtic all the way.

Yeah as I said in another thread it's hard work supporting a club who are up the @rse of the conservative establishment in this country but with Gerrard, Gary Mac, Ryan Kent, Ovie Ejariah and Jon Flanagan all there it's almost impossible not to cheer them on.
The Aberdeen game is live on Sky on Sunday (12.30pm), should be worth a watch.

Interesting game to say the least. Rangers are leading 1-0 at HT but have been down to 10 men since the opening 10 minutes.

Unlucky Gerrard did well to lead 1 man down right to the wire.

Yep, I know Gerrard will probably be gutted about conceding the late goal but given the circumstances that draw is a good result. It's one thing to ride out the last 20 minutes when you are down to 10 men but 80 odd minutes? Away from home too.

Good 3-1 win tonight for Gerrard, Maribor are no mugs, I know we trounced them 7-0 on their own patch last year but that beat down came out of nowhere really (Maribor had drawn with Seville and Spartak Moscow prior to playing us).
They were just unlucky to run into Coutinho, Firmino, Salah and Mane on a good night.

Well done SG picked up first 3 points in Spl. Did well considering they were 1 man down for 60 mins.

Celtic dumped out of the CL by Athens, they join Rangers in the Europa League now. Big blow that for the bhoys.

Yup it is :D Rangers fans are enjoying this downfall from Celtic.

Brendan should change club this is the best he will do with Celtic. He should come back to the premiership.

He basically gave Celtic's board an ultimatum in pre-season saying if they can't match his ambition he'd be off, he rowed back a bit a few days later but he's obviously not 100% happy with the backing he's getting from the club.
Last nights result won't have helped the situation either.
Actually you can see this from both Brendan's and Celtic's board's of view, Brendan is probably looking at Gerrard signing 7 or 8 players and thinking to himself hang on they are supposed to be skint, Celtic have won the last 7 league titles and have appeared in the CL group stages 7 years on the bounce yet they have barely signed anyone.
Celtic's board however probably feels that Brendan already has more than enough resources at his disposal squad wise to see off any challenge from Rangers and to be fair a lot of people would agree with them, if Rangers win the title it would be seen as a huge shock.
Brendan obviously doesn't want to be beaten by Gerrard and he is clearly frustrated by Celtic's lack of signings, it's a situation worth keeping an eye on for sure.

Never been one of the Rodgers haters and loved some of the football we played under him but he's been pretty bad in Europe for both Celtic and us.

Yup it will be an interesting season for Brendan however they still will probably win the SPL. I really hope SG pushes them all the way.
Yup Brendan hasn't really cracked Europe yet. Scottish clubs have always done poor but yeah i recall under us Brendan struggled. Maybe if he had better personal who knows maybe he would've done better.
