Just saw this, what do people think of the refs decision to send the player off? personally i think that fan got what he deserved.

Its assault and the ref was right to send him off .

It's hardly self defense kicking the fan after he went down. I think the fan got what he deserved but the ref still made the right call.

I agree with Fowler_E7... its self defense.. the fan provoked the situation

I have no problem with what the keeper did there.  Fans have no business coming onto the field of play, anything after that is their own fault (Within Reason, It's not like the keeper pulled out an Ak-47 from under his towel and mowed him down)  Hell I'd have expected the keeper to at least get a decent kick in somewhere other than the legs.  He kicked him once in the feet and once in the shins.  Have to admit, I'd have done worse to him.

Tbh, I think it's just about justified. The 'fan' could have been carrying a knife for all he knew (it has happened in the past) and even if he hadn't the guy still posed a potential threat, so I think he was right in the first instance to try to nullify that threat. He did stop as soon as the guy in red, presumably a steward, arrived on the scene to deal with the situation.

TBH The fan could have been carrying a knife or worse, a gun, so id have done the same thing. Except I would have booted him right in the face.

 Oddly enough I bought one yesterday on Sukhumvit market. It's amazing what one can buy out here.

Better be careful Bav.  Couldn't "Out Here" indicate a place of origin?  That's now been deemed racist.

I've no problem with the actions of the keeper. IMO the world has gone too soft. The keeper shouldnt have to fear for his safety on the pitch and when someone enters the field of play I would personally think the guys a nutcase. Kepper went to neutralise the threat until support arrived to help. Did FA wrong imo.

I believe when someone trespasses on my property I should be able to beat the kunt but unfortunately the world doesnt see things my way. C'est la vie

for all the fan knew that keeper might have been a psychopathic zombie on the verge of killing just about everyone in the stadium - looks like he was just defending himself.

bit of a hard one to call that. think the kicks after the guy was on the floor was a bit much and thats why he was sent off. if he was worried that he had a knife or something he should have just got away from him once he was on the floor.

Only just saw this. Hey, the keepers human and was assaulted. I didn't see the ref diving in to defend him, so why should he send him off?

When someone attacks ya, ya fight back or you run away. And in front of a massive crowd like that, who's gonna run?

Was there any more news on this incident?
