Remember Sven having Scholes out on the left in 2006 to accomadate SG/Lampard combination in the centre. Scholes retired straight after.

How some of these guys are managers is beyond me.

The absence of Lampard gives the freedom that Gerrard needs and deserves.

And the use and success of the flat 4 midfield just goes to show the 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 (which was played last last) aren't redundant formations.

As for over rated, well you have Gareth Barry, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Frank Lampard etc etc...
