I just don't have any words to describe these two living legends. Absolutely awesome duo and without a doubt one of the very best footballers in the world at the moment.  :bowdown

Iniesta is now my official favorite player along with Xavi. :buttrock

the fact that alonso can't get in the spain team over these two just shows how special players these two are.

their understanding is telepathic.

Thought Iniesta by a country mile was MOM, Xavi played well and whipped in a great cross for Messi's header but Iniesta was sensational the whole game.
He has a little turn of pace that i didnt realise as well.

The pair are a testament to the quality of Barca's training academy - (La Massia). Xavi has probably been the more established and well known of the two in recent years but Iniesta is now coming into his own and is truly world class.

Being a bit of a Barca fan on the side and following la liga on $ly $ports it's been fantastic seeing the way he has developed and for my money he is one of THE best midfielders out there, along side our own Stevie G. I'd even go as far to say that he would be my next world player of the year ahead of Messi.

Sorry to correct you but in Del Bosque's Spain, Alonso covers the back of the two little midfielders.  :nod

Rooney hails Iniesta as world's best.

Sentana Sports

Wayne Rooney believes Andres Iniesta proved himself the best player in the world during the Champions League final.

The match had been billed as a battle between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but, despite the latter scoring a second-half header, Iniesta stood out for many as the star performer.

Sir Alex Ferguson said after the match that he felt Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez had been the key to Barcelona's victory and Rooney feels that Iniesta is now the world’s greatest.

“I’ve never played against a better team than this,” he said.

"They are a brilliant team and I think Iniesta is the best player in the world at the moment.

"They scored their goals at good times and made it difficult for us.

"Barcelona pass the ball so well and if you don't take your chances they punish you."

He added: "I'm hurting at the moment, but we've got to get over it and look to next season.

“We’re still a young team and can come back, I hope.”

Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, admitted that all of the Manchester United players had failed to shine.

“Not one of us can say we played well tonight,” he said.

“It’s a shame. We created five or six chances, but they were the better team.”

fair enough. i just assumed marcus senna was still in the side, even though he's not spanish

what a midfield three that is though. teams would never get the ball back.

They have so much quality all over the pitch, even on the bench. I hope they win the world cup and if not them then Argentina.

That's what amazes me with Iniesta and Xavi. You just can't take the ball away from them without fouling them. (well 95% of the time anyway) and it's not like they keep the ball that way occasionally, they do it in every fcking match they play. Unbelievable talent.    :bowdown
