Real madrid chairman resigns - He was caught cheating

Background: All Spanish clubs bar 3 (Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona) function as any enterprise, the stockholders decide. The more stocks you have, the more power you have.

Real Madrid doesn't work that way, it's only certain season ticket holders, the ones who can take decissions, the club is ran in the old way. And votes are casted with papers and raised hands.

What's the scandal? Calderon the chairman managed to enter in the clubs meeting people without right to vote. Lots of them, and their function, besides voting yes to the numbers Calderon gave, was to insult anyone that was against the chairman.

MARCA has unveiled everything

At first, Calderon said he hadn't anything to do with those people, but MARCA yesterday showed how everyone of them were closely related to him, or his son, even showing pics of them together :D

So Calderon has been caught. In fact, he was caught a long time ago, but in this country, until Marca decides to remove someone, nothing happens.

Here, a youtube video. Even if you don't understand SPanish, you can hear the insults. The people whistling and insulting are the people put by Calderon to try to silence the opposing voices.

I hope you understand the explanation :D

P.S. For instance you can see an old guy that breaks his paper and goes, saying

"I've come to make a criticism, not to be called son of a bitch while you allow that". and he leaves, while being insulted by Calderon's muppets.

That's what happened with anyone saying anything against Calderon

I heard this on the Guardians Podcast.

Where does this leave the supposed Ronaldo transfer?

Theoretically it should end the story.

But the incoming guy will have to bring both money and signings, so I guess they'll keep on trying.

Yes...an imploding political mess at a football club that we are gonna play pretty soon is all good!

We obviously have one too..but theirs is more dirty! :D

Cheers Sabre..nice to hear how a Spaniard sees it,not a British paper with their own 10Ps worth thrown in as well! :)

You're welcome.

That first page of Marca was devastating, exactly it says:

In the head line: "The cheaters are best friends of Calderon, his brother Ignacio, and his son Jaime"

And you see red lines showing photos of them together.

Below that, you have the same guys identified in the meeting. And below that you have the headline that leaves Calderon as a known liar

"I swear for my honour that I don't know any of them, AT ALL" Classic :D

Just below that you can Robben saying Messi is a player of another planet (he thinks he's much better than ROnaldo)

For some reason my post didnt show up before. Strange.

Anyway with Ronaldo I think the new guy will make a promise to 'get him' so if anything kunterhook FErgie could be under even more pressure than last summer. Sabre correct me if im wrong but wasnt there a perception that Calderon was not up to the task of bringing Ronaldo to the Bernebau? If anything this will probably be worse for Utd.

I didn't like him, anyway. I think the new president will be better. I also like the new coach.
