As i said i know nothing of his quality but with a name like de la RED...fate may take him to Anfield! :D

LOL

No doubt De la Red has taken advantage of Albelda's problems in Valencia. Albelda was put aside the team by Koeman and Aragones said that regrettably only those playing regularly would go to the Euro. So De la Red has taken advantage of that.

De la Red will be the natural substitution for Alonso, who, in Aragones scheme has the specific role of defensive midfielder, in which he'll be first option, according to what we have seen in the last months, anyway.

Bojan's absence has been his own choice. He claims to be exhausted after all the sub17, sub21 and Barcelona games. To be honest, I find it surprising he thinks that way, but perhaps it's the most honest thing to do if he really feels that exhausted and tired.

Raul's absence has been Aragones' decission. He has received lot of stick for it, the Madrid press has been campaigning for Raul all this months. I still think that Raul still has a place as I respect him as an opportunist goal poacher, but I respect Aragones' decission.

I never liked my flag, nor the badge in it.

<History note for Red37 and the few that might be interested in history>

The Spanish country is old as fĂșck and is very rich in cultures and identities. Yet our badge is based on Castilla y Leon, Aragon and Navarra, the 3 great Kingdoms of lots of centuries ago.

The above two, The Castle and The leon were the flag that used to have the vessels when we had wars with everybody around (England, France etc).

Then, the king and the queen of the two kingdoms married and made another one. And conquered Navarra (the chains).

Above the badge, the crown that unites us all.

We, basques, were part of Navarra, we never were independent. In fact us in the province of San Sebastian abandoned Navarra and sweared allegiance and loyalty to Castilla y Leon as far as the XV century.

Of course in the middle the Lyss flower.

As you see, an obsolet badge. But it doesn't look bad, it seems serious :D

</end of history rant  in a nutshell>

It's got to be Spain for me too although they are the only team other than England who flatter to deceive going into tournaments.

I hope they finally come good though. In the last WC they were superb in the Group stage but lost (to France I think) in the later rounds.

Spain for me

:)

Carra is on Revista right now, backing the Support Spain campaign.

As for Spain's flag, I personally like it.

A better flag though would be a horizontal tricolour of gold over orange over red.

Very cool design.

Are Manhattan sources unhappy with Aragones for footballing reasons, or that unfortunate translation of "shitty black"?

Apparently my prayers have been answered.

Del Bosque says he's taking over as national team boss after EURO 2008.
