Aragones definitely is aging and with Alzheimer. Capdevila, Angulo, Iniesta and Alonso in the bench.

Well at leat Xabi gets some rest. Bah.

Good goal of Spain, but poor performance anyway.

Arizmendi is a good player, but should never make it to the spanish squad. I like our young left winger SIlva. He made himself in the segunda division, a tough and physical division, he has pace and he's a good winger, despite not having his best game.

Villa is a tough worker, as you can see. But there are too many average players in that spanish squad right now.

England, with the men they have, should play a better football. I don't like McLaren's proposal. England is a great team but aren't playing at their level.

Carra on the pitch.

End of the game. 0-1. The best news is that it's always an honour to win in England. Haven't done that since 1981.

But this victory will hide the criticism and Spain has a lot of things to sort out in their football.

Very nice goal by Iniesta. As I said before, I'm just happy that there's no injuries to the red men.

No Xabi which is great for Liverpool, although obviously disapointing for Xabi. Morientes instead of Torres is another surprise. The Spanish team looks a little better balanced than Englands but they havent got Stevie Gerrard so I think it may be a draw.

Aragones has lost the notion of reality. Albelda's past his best, and in his best he was much worse than Alonso. But he's a man of his confidence and there he is. Iniesta and Xabi are two creative, though weak players for the middle of the park. That won't work.

xD very nice game from albelda tbh. Iniesta and Xavi has been nice too

In case you are not aware, Spain has a difficult qualification for the Euro 2008. We have problems with our game, and if this victory makes you think we're on the correct path, then this victory isn't good. We were shíte.

Waste of time match. Spain played well though and deserved to win.

Villa is very impressive. I'm glad no LFC players were injured.

It was typical of recent England, the midfield has no balance whatsoever.
Carrick was extremley poor and is so overrated its untrue.
Barton looked decent when he came on and should of started with Gerrard, Dyer should of played wide left and Defoe should of started alongside Crouch.
Barry looked out of his depth and slow and sluggish, but still should of started at left back instead of Neville (who isnt even playing that position this season)
Micah Richards done well when he came on also....some decent bursts forward.
Villa looks absolutely top drawer and was by a mile Spains star performer.
How many freekicks did the ref give against Crouch for f'ck all ?

What a shocking game to watch....! Only glad Stevie came off at half time with no injuries, England friendlies are practically always bad, the only exception was the Argentina match 12 months ago (cause we hate each other!) None of the players want to get hurt so they don't get stuck in and that reduces the game to pedestrian pace. good finish from Iniesta but absolutely no indication of what we'll be like against Israel next month.
