Well an England-Spain isn't a friendly really is it?
I'd like to win it to be honest. But I don't rely on Aragones any more.
I've heard that Gerrard has praised Alonso big time, I'm looking forward to watch the game.

As long as there are no injuries to our players I don't really care about the result.

If they're given their natural roles they're bound to meet in the pitch often. And they know each other well. And I'm fúching curious how Alonso will tackle Gerrard, or perhaps he'll preffer to hold him? Will try Gerrard to drible from the left side of Alonso? I want to see that encounter!
And no injuries please!

My money is on Crouch scoring a thunderbolt header past Reina.

I remember the last friendly when Alonso and Xavi had Lampard and his CM partner (I think it was Hargreaves) chasing shadows all night, that was a real exhibition of quality central midfield play, pure technique and passing, Lampard couldn’t get close to either of them.

quite possibly the worst england team i've ever seen
phil neville over gareth barry? what's the point?
what the hell was the point of having barton in the squad?
crouch upfront on his own? wtf? if i was defoe i'd announce my international retirement with immediate effect.

I think McLaren will stick Stevie out on the right and play a 4-4-2, Alonso will spend the game making sure the ball doesn't get out onto the wing near his mate!!!
Agree about Phil Neville, I know we look at things with our Red specs on but what must Gareth Barry be thinking if Neville gets in in front of him? Ridiculous...

according to Mclaren earlier he said about the goalies
"Foster, Carson and Kirkland haven't played in Europe".
the guy doesn't have a clue, god help the national team

Given the stick Pennant received here, I wonder if Shaun Wright Phillips is THAT good? for what I've seen nothing too impressive, but then, I don't know him well.

He was a good player for man city but the following season when chelsea bought him, he only started a handful of games and seems to have lost all of his confidence.
