Lack of concentration by Japan. :no

Had the three points in the bag, they'll regret throwing those away, as for Brazil they have a fight on their hands with the Aussies.

What a finish to the game.  I wanted the Aussies to win, but how the ref never gave the penalty at 1-1 when Cahill chopped the Japanese boy down I'll never know

Kewell was anonymous for pretty much the whole game, clearly nowhere near fit.

Kewell was anonimous, but he still hit the bar just after the Japanese goal. Too bad he had little opportunity to play, as he rarely got the ball, the Aussies preferred long balls to Viduka.

Anyway, good result for the Aussies, they fought their way back in, but quite frankly I think if the Japanese had not tried to defend their win, they could have easily won it.

I still think Brazil will win that group  :D

MAGIC....

JUST MAGIC... :D

I am completely euphoric.

Yeah, it wasn't the best game we've played and Guus got it wrong in the first half (not tactically, just the wrong personnel), but it is a win at the world cup and as we all know...a win, is a win, is a win!!!

:D   :D   :D

It was Australia's first ever World Cup goal.

It wasn't actually. Colin 'Bunny' Curran scored a own goal in West Germany '74.  :p   :D

Kewell was playing in the middle, I think we should have kept him on the left.

Japanese should have sewn up the game well before the Oz late show. Well done to the aussies for hanging in under terrible conditions and getting a result, on todays showing however I don't see them picking up anymore points .

Exactly...Kewell wide left with Cahill (dirty little b@stard that he is)  through the middle.

Harry was completely shagged for that last 15 and when he had his shocked blocked, in the same passage of play that Cahil scored our opener, I thought his World Cup campaign was over. He certainly must have felt that groin at that time as he looked very tentative.

Woof...just getting here and scoring this wonderful victory is like winning the World Cup for me. Maybe that's a small, understated goal but with this victory we have signalled our arrival on the world stage of football ad this is what it's all about for us Aussies. Onward and upward from here!!!  :D
