was he the one that scored the 4th goal? coz he was impresive throughout the game, really good distribution.

Suley Muntari of Ghana has impressed. Watched Ghana against Czech Republic and Brasil and think he played very well in both games. Was all over the pitch, good positional play and passer of the ball and winning a lot of the 50-50 chances.

I've been very impressed with the Swiss lad Barnetta in the couple of games i've seen. the Swiss haven't played with much flair but he looks a skillful player (certainly better than Yakin) who could play for one of the bigger clubs.

For me the player that has stood head and shoulders above the rest is Xabi Alonso. What a player he is becoming. When I have watched him play for Spain before the world cup I always hoped he would replicate his Liverpool form and show how well he can really play. Now I am hoping he can replicate his Spanish form for Liverpool. He has definately moved up a class now. His movement (the only part of his game worthy of critisism) has improved and he is now looking truly world class. Without doubt my player of the world cup so far.

Michael Essien impressed me for Ghana, and they missed him today against Brazil.

When I seen him at Chelsea, I laughed as he cost £24m. He was garbage, but watching him for Ghana he has done well in this World Cup. He drove Ghana forward whilst bossing the midfield, the qualities I guess Chelsea seen in him hence why they spent so much to get him.

If Chelsea enter the race for Torres I think you'll see that £20m price tag rise very steeply!

I liked the Right Back for Portugal , Migel ? Full of running all game and quick with it. Overlapped and got forward time and time again. :) We will get at another chance to see him in action this Saturday against the "migthy " England ! ???

Yes Miguel is a very good player, he's kepeing Paulo Ferreira out of the team so that says something about his quality. He has played right winger in the past so he loves to get forward, and he is pretty strong defensively as well.

As you said, full of running and has a lot of pace, should give England some headaches.

Portugal's other fullback on the other hand, Valente is the weakness in the defence, but Beckham probably won't take advantage of it anyway as he couldn't beat a player if his life depended on it.

Valente is the weak link in Portugal's defence.

Nuno is very good at getting forward, overlapping his winger but in the tackle he is clumsy and not that strong.

I'd have Lennon on the right wing as Nuno is uncomfortable against a player with pace, SWP ripped him apart when we played Chelsea.

Wouldnt mind being linked now -hes a super player. At the end of that last match against Holland he was surging forward, getting into great positions, then sprinting back like Linford Christie.. Another player I liked was the Paraguay forward Valdez, strong and skillful and scores goals although he didnt score in that game. Hes been great for Werder Bremen too
