Australia is more than a one man team guys. Kewell will be a loss but not irreplaceable...besides Guus is too much of a wiley old fox to totally discount the use of Kewell or another surprise, just not like Kalac though hopefully!!   :D

Although Guus is saying on TV now that Kewell won't play. :(

People are raving about Argentina, but for me Italy look like the side which has the best balance between being solid at the back and creative up front (which has let them down in recent world cups).

Now that Totti has been dropped (who is the most overrated player in world football along with Beckham), I expect Italy to take Australia to pieces in this one.  Apart from the USA game which the ref ruined, Italy have looked excellent to me and if they beat Australia as expected then they'll also be fancied against Switzerland/Ukraine.  Italy could be a good bet to go all the way imo.

Actually what I'd really appreciate would be a first class ref...

agree 100% with this. i thought i was the only one who just couldn't see why totti was rated so highly. ibrahimovic is another one.

From this side of the draw all sides have one hurdle and that is the giants of Brazil and watching the Japan/Brazil match I suspect the giant is lumbering into some good form. Any side that overcomes Brazil can claim some bragging rights for a finals berth.

Hi Laza...we have to stop those dinking runs behind our defence.

We ridden our luck bit but we were always to have in this game.
Im pretty contented with that half,  while we really havent looked dangerous. The plus side is no early goal conceded and we havent look overawed.
Scott Chipperfield the man for me for that half but the only way Viduka is looking to get on the scoresheet is put it through his own net

I think the V bomber has worn out that big frame over the tournament. Aloisi AND Kennedy might be a better option in the second half.

Chipper has been giant like

Yeah well personally I think we probably miss Emerton more as with Italians dangerous on the break. Having Harry and Tim Cahill in same side may be have been really pushing our luck against them
End of the day though you have to play with who you have and while im not big fan Wiltshire seems to be doing ok  LH

The longer this game remains scoreless the more frustrated the Azzuri will become. There is still hope and riding your luck is something familiar to all teams...some just ride it more than others!! :D
