United 1-0 up at Swansea through a goal from a set piece. The Swansea player had a chance to clear it as well  :no

United 3-0 up inside the last 10 minutes. Bit of pressure on us to perform today, wouldn't want that 2 point gap to get any bigger this early in the proceedings.

Arsenal were a bit unlucky when Lacazette's equaliser was ruled out for off side but it's always nice to see one of our top 4 rivals drop points.

Huddersfield 1-0 Newcastle

I think Rafa will struggle this season, survival for them is the goal.

City get 5 mins of injury time for who knows what, and then the ref allows them to play on and they score in the 7th minute of injury time. It's not like city were just attacking, it was going back and forth and the ref just let it keep playing. If there was any reason to let the game play on it was because of Guardiola, and they get the goal? That's f*cking bull Sh*t.  And a crazy deflection puts it in.

When are we gonna get some of that luck?

Nice to see Benitez working his particular brand of magic for the Geordies today, even when recuperating from surgery he lays the foundations for a solid defence, Swansea away is no easy fixture, but Rafa got his tactics spot on,get well soon fella.

From BBC Sport

There was further good news for Newcastle as assistant manager Francisco de Miguel Moreno told BBC Sport that Benitez would return to the club later this week.

"He wanted to attend but the weather conditions were not the best," said De Miguel Moreno. "He has been active in the game and kept in touch with us throughout the game.

"After the game, Rafa rang us and congratulated all the team because they did a fantastic job. He said 'we are now under way'.

Class !

Fair dues to Rafa after beating Stoke Newcastle are now up to 4th.
As for today's games the Chelsea/Arsenal game finishing as a draw probably suited us, just a pity Everton couldn't take something from United.
United don't look that convincing tbh but Mourinho's teams never do I suppose, they know how to accumulate points though.

Yup Maureen does usually know how to win games and get points.

Currently City look favourites but then again they did last year this time aswel.

It will be between Manchester clubs and City.

Rafa has notched a few good wins consecutively their CB lascelles looks good.

Looked the same last year. And then winter came and half their squad didn't fancy it after that.

Yup they won 10 games in all comps last season and then after the 3-3 draw with celtic they capitulated.
We will see if Pepe has learned from last season. My hunch is they will go all the way this time.

City were helped in large by the woeful defending of Sakho,a display so awful Klavan felt it safe to reopen his Twitter account   :D
