I actually want England to do well - there's such a Liverpool influence on this England team it's hard not to... annoyingly

Raheem looked pretty impressive in the first two games of the WC.  He did look knackered late in the second game.  Hope he doesn't see the pitch in the next game but, I'm wondering if Hodgson is going to "Test his resolve" like he did with Sturridge.

If Sterling plays a whole season like he did the second half of last season, with the exposure CL games will give him too, other clubs will be looking at him.  If you believe the papers he's already on Madrid's radar as a potential target next summer.

It would be interesting to see how loyal he'd be if that were to happen, given he was brought up in London and we poached him off QPR's youth system.  I'd hope he'd want to stay and develop further under Rodgers.

I thought in Englands second game he was *****. John Barnes mark II I reckon... Dont think he will ever do it consistently for England... Maybe wrong but not sure he will. Not unless England adopt Liverpools approach and convince Luis to play for England :-D

I assume the John Barnes comment is negative...

I don't know where to begin, I'm not even going to ask.

Depends what way you want to look at it.

Barnes was marvelous for Liverpool yet ***** poor (most of the time for England).

Personally I think sterling will be a fantastic club player but never really be international class.

I also thought the comment was pretty self explanatory.

There is a difference in looking lively and playing well though. Dont get me wrong, my opinion of him has gone practically full circle, but I just dont think he is or will be as good as the likes of Suarez or Robben during his career.

I do think he's more than good enough to play for Liverpool and win trophies as a first teamer but I doubt he will ever really effect games at international level. To be quite honest, as long as he does the business for Liverpool I couldn't give a flyin one about England

I hope he is going to have a big year for us, as long as he keeps his head down I don't see why he could not excel in a partnership with DS

Im not sure i would agree Stmick. Think the pressure of that shirt would get to him. If you look at who he would be replacing and those who has worn it in the past.

I wonder what price this kid would go for on the open market at the moment?

Absolutely astonishing talent.
