When it comes to suicide there's a whole load of emotions that can get involved depending on the perspective you adopt when analysing the situation

After all of that though the bottom line is football has lost one of its gents, a manager that was showing a lot of promise, a wife lost a husband and kids have lost a dad

Very, very tragic and my heart goes out

RIP Gary

Can't believe he hung himself and left his children without a father. Ha was a good player and looked like a promising manager. I can't really talk because I don't really know what was going on in his life, but some people could only dream for a the kind of life he had. At the end, what ever it was he should of though about his children first. RIP Gary Speed, I'm sure a lot of people will miss you.

if it's depression then it's a mental illness and is hugely complex.

Haven't ever suffered from it myself, but know a friend who has and have seen how it can bury someone with despair and negative thoughts.

FACT:It is not chosen; iy happens when pain exceeds the resources for coping with pain

Brutal news. Shay Given was in bits at the start of the Swansea Villa game, Im glad the club had the sense to give Bellamy a leave of absense. Saying that alot of the lads looked choked up during the silence anyway on account of Brad Jones recent tragedy.

This is what shocks me most.  Beamed into your living room (well not mine but you get the idea) one day, presumably with no hint of anything wrong, and found dead the next day by his own hand.  It's hard to reconcile that.

RIP Gary.

Thoughts go out to your family.

If it was severe depression, rationalizing selfishness won't come close to the mind of many.

its not that strange to tell you the trurh, two years ago i had a guy on my confidence course that was very happy, we done a Self-esteem , he go 10, no one had ever got a ten before, ten means every thing in your life is how you like it.....that night he walked home, filled his bath up and slit his wrists.
as luck would have it his ex wife turned up and saved him.
a few weeks later he was back on the course, he told me about the test and said everthing in his life had been sorted, he had told every one that matters that he loved them, said goodbye to them, posted of letters, every thing in his life was in order, thats why he had such a high Self-esteem on that day.

now if anyone ever gets near a ten i tend to keep a very close eye on them.
