Okay they have been on a bit of a bad run latley but does he really deserve the sack? Is anyones job safe anymore :no

WEST Bromwich Albion have today relieved Head Coach Roberto Di Matteo of his duties and placed him on gardening leave with immediate effect.

This was the unanimous decision of the Football Club's Board of Directors in light of a worrying sequence of results which has seen the Club lose 13 of their last 18 games in all competitions, winning only three.

First-Team Coach Michael Appleton will assume control of first-team affairs whilst the Club considers all available options for a new Head Coach.

Chairman Jeremy Peace said: "This has been a tough decision but we, as a Board, believe it is the right one to give the Club the best possible chance of remaining in the Barclays Premier League.

It's a recurring theme with WBA, they do well in the Championship come up do and alright for a bit. Then they suffer a run of poor form, panic sack the manager and get relegated. :no

They really do live up to the boing, boing, baggies tag.

He overachieved at the start of the season and when he couldnt keep up those standards he was fired. I hope they go down now because their board deserve as much for being so trigger happy. Im sure they have someone lined up that they think is a bigger name, Allardyce or O'Neill oe someone of that ilk.

Knee jerk reaction imo, especially seeing as Blackpool are not far from them. Thing is WBA started of really well, maybe the boards expectation was for that to carry on. Unrealistic really for a newly promoted side.

Di Matteo and Owen Coyle have been like a breath of fresh air in the Premier League ,they both have brought in an attacking philosophy, and instilled an inventive approach to their respective teams , and its a sad day that these Ideals and fresh concepts haven't been given the time to flourish ,and now one of them finds himself out of the job in the name of impatience ...... MADNESS

4 in 11 isn't that far off. It's what they always do, new gaffer, go down, come back, don't do well, new gaffer, repeat. It's typical West Brom and they bring a lot of it on themselves

Gardening leave is like a stay of execution mate, he's no longer doing the job, the club are basically saying and we don't want him to do the job he but we won't sack you just yet

All will become clear when/if you study employment law  :D

Sometimes you just need a change.  I didn't care much about the sacking, what I loved was Allardyce saying he's not interested.

I think he's waiting for summer so he can get the chelski job :D
