Not so sure about the details of the new spending ruling next season. But is this something to do with it? The owner may want to spend now in acquiring their target to avoid being restricted by new ruling?

35 million... lol

Talk about getting taken to the cleaners.
He has had 1/2 a successful season in the PL and he is worth 35 million...

I thought 25 million would had been absolute maximum but just shows how desperate we are to spend moste of the money from Torres on him.

Carroll will never be a 20 goals/season scorer. Ever!

Looks like we're gonna try and push for that fourth spot, I believe we can take it too, take it right from under Chelsea's nose(Tottenham, too) that would be :censored: fantastic.

Is this a joke? Ive just woke up and read on Liverpoolfc.tv Kenny saying things havent changed and now this? Wheres the story come from?. Look Carrolls a great target man but 35 million come on :censored: hell. We could get Lukaku and Turan for this. Defour or Sakho.Hazard or Santon etc.

Panic buy at its best. Not desputing hes a great player and could become a legend for us, its just the money seems 20 million too much.

Disagree mate, he's a rich man's Peter Crouch + can use his head, I think he'll be one of the top strikers in Europe over the next five years no matter what club he's at.

kop_that Kop That
RT @Julian_Lee76: £35m may be over the odds for Carroll but at least it's not gone on loan interest payments a la previous seasons!! #lfc

Also some people have said we dont need to recoup money now, but what if the Torres move goes through then you could argue NESV  have only gave us 10 million. We dont now if theyll let us still have all Torres money if we buy Carroll. Add the babel money on to that and its only 4 million.

Carrol 20 games: 11 goals Torres 26 games: 9 goals,  Carroll in a sh!t team, too.  Last season at the age of 20/21 Carroll put in 19 at Newcastle, he's going to be class I'm sure of it.  And FFS some of you are never happy!!!  We haven't spent this kind of money since.. ever and have craved for this kind of backing from ownership for as long as I can remember and now that we have it we're going to whinge about paying too much?  Couldn't make it up.

It's more than G&H gave us, and we'll spend more this window if other teams sell their players.. if not the summer will be very exciting.

i think we are selling torres at the right time too

we aint selling him in that period when he was one of the worlds hottest players/strikers

were selling him as he clearly isnt as good as two seasons ago and has lost some pace
