Moratti: Inter won't 'go crazy' to sign Gareth Bale

Inter president Massimo Moratti says the club will not "go crazy" to sign Gareth Bale, despite the Tottenham star's fantastic performances against the Nerazzurri in the Champions League.

Bale scored a memorable hat-trick in the 4-3 defeat at the San Siro on October 20 and tormented Inter once again on Tuesday night when giving UEFA Club Defender of the Year Maicon a difficult evening at White Hart Lane: a 3-1 win.

His performance on home turf drew praise from observers across Europe - with Gazzetta dello Sport saying he "destroyed" Maicon and Spain's Marca saying he was "magical" - and it is no surprise that the Wales international is being linked with all manner of elite clubs.

Inter recently admitted they had been monitoring Bale over the summer, before he signed a new four-year contract, and coach Rafa Benitez hinted at an interest in the player following Inter's defeat at White Hart Lane.

It is reported that Bale could cost in the region of £50 million, but Moratti insists Inter will not be drawn into spending an excessive amount of money on the 21-year-old.

"Bale? For sure he did well both in Milan and in London, but I already knew him," Moratti said. "Yes, he did some great things, but we will not go crazy to sign him."

he had two great matches and also played well against arsenal and chelsea last season, think id wait till hes proven to be consistantly top drawer before shelling out stupid money on him - though Man City probably already have the cheque written out!
