you dont know that, wolves would have been buzzing with the result against spurs, and confidence would have been high.

by the end of the match man ure had carrick and fletcher as CB's, you just never know what would have happened., MM have a very defeatist attitude before he even got there.

I'm not sure that's what Maypax meant though. I think he's just saying that even if Wolves were to be punished by the FA (which I don't think they will, nor should they really imo), the mancs will still maintain the three points. I could be wrong though, however that's how it reads to me.

McCarthy has every right to play whatever team he deems fit, and if he chooses to play a weakened team then that is his perrogative.

However, that being said, come the tail end of the season when the likes of Chelsea, United, Arsenal, yourselves, ( everton - should they do well in the Europa league.. Yeah yeah I know, highly unlikely but still... ) are playing lower teams and playing weakened teams because of European fixtures, McCarthy has not right to complain if the lower teams gain a win from it.

By effectively condoning playing weaker teams, he has made a bed, which later on in the season could prove to be most uncomfortable for him, because when teams at the top of the table do the same thing, it could gift teams he is contending with a nice three points.

Well looks like it has worked out nicely for him

From a fan on the BBC

"Super Mick has had his decision vindicated. Burnley went for it against Arsenal and got a point but had nothing to give today, whereas we had nine fresh players. From the two games we have three points, they have one. I know which I'd prefer."
