Portsmouth full-back Djimi Traore has signed a two-year deal with AS Monaco, who play in the French top flight.

The former Liverpool player spent the tail end of last season on loan at Birmingham, making three appearances.

Traore joined Liverpool from French side Laval at the age of 18 and went on to be part of their 2005 Champions League-winning side.

The 29-year-old Mali international made 136 Liverpool appearances in a seven-year spell at Anfield.

Djimi Traore probably one of the worst players ever to hold a CL-winners medal but he is still a legend for his efforts in that game.
