well guys i think taking it one game at a time is the sensible thing but thats just me

short term our next 5 fixtures in the league are:-
(a) charlton                                                 (h) norwich (everton)
(h) fulham                                                   (a) soton (everton)
(a) birmingham                                             (h) chelsea (everton)
(h) blackburn                                               (a) villa (everton)
(a) Newcastle                                              (h) blackburn (everton)

now when you put them together like that, we have easier fixtures than everton
and after those next 5 matches its the merseyside derby now, i reckon everton will get 9 points out of those 5 matches

so as we are 7 points behind them, we need to get at least 11 at worse points, so then if we beat everton we're only 2 points behind them, but looking at our fixtures we are quite capable of getting 13 or even maximum points out of those games, but it all depends whos coming back from injury and other factors

Charlton , Newcastle and Arsenal Away would be possible losses . At home we have Boro , Everton , Villa , Spurs, Bolton, Fulham and Blackburn............... Other Aways are Brum, Man City , Palace, Portsmouth.

We have won a third of their Away game, drawn another third and lost half ???

So 7 Aways would bring 3 Losses , and 2 Wins and 2 draws using current form.

At home we have fared much better and won twice as many as we have lost and drwan combined , so using that home form we would expect to win 5, draw 1 and lose 1 giving us 61 points , 1 more than last season :p

Well putting aside the fractions or the decimals I can't see us winning at Arsenal, Newcastle or Charlton ???

Palace will scrap tooth and nail and we certaibly won't win every game at home. Its going all the way again this season but i won't be too biothered if we don't finish 4th .

In fact this obsession with 4th does my head in ??? Maybe when we stop this obsession we wil start to play football worthy of 4th and higher ???
